Amanda Taylor, RDH
Amanda Taylor is our dental hygienist. Amanda grew up in Searcy, Arkansas where she attended Harding Academy. She graduated from Harding University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. Amanda worked with Dr. Ellenwood as a dental assistant from 2000 until she was accepted to dental hygiene school in 2003. Amanda graduated with her Associate of Dental Hygiene from University of Arkansas, Fort Smith in 2005 and returned to Dr. Ellenwood’s practice as his full-time hygienist. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association. Her training in dietetics, dental assisting, and dental hygiene has given Amanda a broad background in dental disease prevention and a deep understanding of dental treatment.
Amanda married Trent Taylor during her time as Dr. Ellenwood’s assistant. Amanda and Trent have one daughter, Anniston, and three dogs. Amanda and her family live in Van Buren and attend Westark Church of Christ. If you see her out and about, you may not recognize her, as is many times the case. Go figure.
Watch out for Amanda’s infectious good humor. Why even here in the office, when Amanda and Debbie get together, I call them Nitro and Glycerin. Boom! There’s an explosion of laughter.
Jennifer Ables, RDA
Jennifer will take excellent care of you during dental treatment as Dr. Ellenwood’s dental assistant. She became a Register Dental Assistant in 2004 and has been on the Crew since 2003. Jennifer has a mastery of restorative and orthodontic knowledge and a zeal for strict infection control. She can translate Dr. Ellenwood’s dental lingo into English for you. Jennifer is a lifelong resident of Van Buren, and has a cosmetology license, but don’t ask her to cut your hair.
She is married to Greg, a master electrician. They have two children: Connor and Callie. Connor recently became engaged! Callie plays a mean trumpet for the Razorback Band. Jennifer also has two dachshunds, feisty little dogs. Jennifer enjoys vacationing on the beach or camping on the lake. She must like large bodies of water but makes sure she applies sunscreen. She attends Butterfield Assembly of God in Van Buren. Sometimes, we call Jennifer by the name Jackie Schmazz. Isn’t that a cool name?! Oh, yeah!
Michelle Palmer, RDA
Michelle is the Crew’s Patient Care Manager. As such, Michelle will schedule you for appointments with Dr. Ellenwood and consult with you regarding treatment. She’s been working with Dr. Ellenwood since 1994 and has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 1993. Michelle has a great ability to connect with patients and work with them on scheduling appointments and making financial arrangements.
Michelle is a Fort Smith native and now lives in Greenwood with her husband Greg (not the same Greg as Jennifer’s Greg – awkward!). Greg is a master sergeant with the United States Air Force, serving with the 188th here in Fort Smith. Michelle and Greg have two daughters: Haley and Landrey. Haley attends UCA in Conway. Landrey is a varsity cheerleader for Greenwood as was Haley. So… Michelle and Greg have attended and continue to attend a lot of ballgames. Go Bulldogs!
Michelle enjoys shopping and is a force to reckon with on Black Friday. She’s never met a restaurant menu item she couldn’t tweak, and once changed one so much that she had changed it into another order. “Yeah,” said the waiter, “that’s a number 3.”
Debbie Eden, CNA
Debbie is our Patient Resources Coordinator. She can help you with questions regarding your account or your insurance. Also, Debbie will schedule your recare (that’s what we call check-ups). She has worked with Dr. Ellenwood since 2014. Debbie has a sunny personality with patients and a kind but firm professionalism with insurance companies.
Debbie was born and raised in Southern California and relocated with family to Arkansas in 2010. She is slowly getting used to Arkansas weather… sort of. She and her husband Rob attend First Baptist Church in Greenwood. Debbie helps in numerous medical/dental mission trips here in Arkansas and in Latin America. As recent empty-nesters, Rob and Debbie have traveled coast to coast to visit extended family.
Debbie is Nana to six grandchildren and enjoys Funday Fridays with them. She loves all animals, but has a special place in her heart for dogs. Ask about Debbie’s futile chase of a three-legged dog. It’s almost horrific and definitely comical.
